I am not interested in photography. I use a camera to make images. That is all.

I move through the world and experience moments of connectedness. I attempt to capture these moments with a camera. The difficulty in this work is to refrain from making images that are good images - formally, compositionally, historically. I don’t want the image to look like a composition, though this is often a failure. I want it to have an energy, I want it to vibrate with the experience that gave it life.

I am not a photographer. If anything, I am a theologian.
